The Project

Crotty’s Bar and Restaurant in Kilrush is a cherished establishment that seamlessly blends traditional Irish pub elements with a rich historical narrative. Established in the early 20th century, the pub retains much of its original character, featuring a pitch pine counter, ornate tiled floors, and a variety of intimate seating areas, including traditional snugs. The interior is adorned with a collection of memorabilia, including vintage photographs and historical documents, reflecting the pub’s deep-rooted connection to the local community and its cultural heritage.

The layout of Crotty’s is thoughtfully designed to accommodate both social gatherings and quiet moments. The main bar area serves as a focal point, offering patrons a warm and inviting space to enjoy a drink and engage in conversation. Adjacent rooms, such as the former CIE storeroom, have been repurposed into cosy seating areas, each with its own unique ambiance. The walls are adorned with posters from local festivals and performances, adding to the pub’s vibrant atmosphere. This blend of historical charm and thoughtful design makes Crotty’s a standout example of Irish pub culture, offering visitors an authentic and immersive experience.
