The Project

The venue was characterised by a rich, layered atmosphere built over time, a space defined by its eclectic mix of booth seating, open-plan zones and carefully preserved architectural quirks. High ceilings in select areas gave the interior an unexpected sense of volume, while thoughtful daylighting at the rear provided a calm, ambient backdrop for diners throughout the day.

This setting holds a strong emotional and operational identity, offering patrons both lively communal tables and quiet corners for more intimate meals. The layout was informal but full of character, with a strong sense of flow between the bar, dining, and service areas. The design may have been modest in its material choices, but it excelled in warmth and authenticity — values that became integral to the brand. It served not only as a successful restaurant but also as a blueprint for what the new McHugh’s in Liscannor would later evolve and build upon.
